Great Mother Maurie
La’Maurie Jones, better known in the doula world as Great Mother Maurie, is an Alabama native and an active doula since early 2019. Great Mother Maurie & Nurturer by Nature currently service the state of Alabama but plans to travel to surrounding states as her children get older.
The Great Mother Maurie has birthed 3 children of her own in very different ways. Her experiences are what gives her great insight and confidence to believe in the effectiveness of holistic health and prioritize that above all when helping moms and their families prepare for birth.
“I feel that my own birth experiences are what led me to be a holistic doula. I have experienced a late term still birth(under hospital care), an unnecessary c-section (under hospital care) and a full at
home 36 hr labor that ultimately ended in a hospital delivery(first attempt at a home delivery) These experiences have given me insight and knowledge about the true nature of labor! We control how drastic or peaceful it is! Holistic approach to birth eliminates all medical concerns and dangers so ultimately leading to a problem free, stress-free, natural home birth where families can

What's a doula?
A doula is a non-medical support person who assists women through the sacred transitions of life, offering physical, informational, and emotional support.
NBN is dedicated to providing holistic support to women through prenatal, birth, and postpartum, and only supports women in the homebirth setting.
